Bouncer seats are a perfect way to keep your baby nearby even when they are sleeping. When they are awake, they love taking in everything that is going on around them in the room. Here are some important things that you should know about a baby bouncer.
Bouncers work for babies from birth up to approximately six months or up until they reach the maximum weight limit for your particular model. Different models are made for different weights. The maximum weight is usually between 18 and 30 pounds.

Most babies only use a bouncer for five to six months. After that they are big enough that they will enjoy being placed on a blanket on the floor where they can move around and scoot. This is important because this is where your baby will learn to crawl.
The most important thing that you will need to take into consideration is your baby's safety. Make sure that the bottom of the frame is wider than the seat itself. When you are looking at it in the store, press on it from different angles to make sure that it will not tip over from any direction.
Since these items are used for a relatively short period of time, you may want to see if you can find one used. You can get them for at least 50% less than what a brand new one will cost. Check around at yard sales, in thrift stores and consignment shops and watch your local sales paper. If you choose to buy a used bouncer, be sure that it is strong and sturdy, as your babys safety should be your top concern.
